EPAct is the Energy Policy Act of 1992 that focuses on reducing motor fuel consumption and mandates renewable fuel use. EPAct's primary emphasis is to reduce the United States dependence on foreign oil through the promotion of domestic, renewable transportation fuels. Provisions of EPAct mandate renewable fuel vehicle purchases for federal and state fuel provider fleets, with the potential of mandates for municipal and private fleets. Renewable fuel vehicles (AFVs) have the ability to run on biodiesel, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), propane, methanol, ethanol or electric.
The federal government, through EPAct, has established mandates for AFV purchases by federal and state agencies beginning in 1993 and 1997 respectively. EPAct also gives the Department of Energy (DOE) the authority to establish mandates for municipalities and private fleets located in large metropolitan areas. Fuel providers are currently required to have AFVs as an increasing percentage of their fleet purchases.

The Solution: Biodiesel
On October 15, 1998, the U.S. Senate and House passed legislation that alters EPAct by allowing the use of biodiesel fuel to meet established mandates. The legislation allows federal and state fleet managers to meet EPAct's AFV acquisition requirements by using biodiesel added to conventional diesel at blends of 20% and higher.
By utilizing biodiesel in a 20% blend with existing diesel, you will gain immediate EPAct credit for your fuel purchased by generating one EPAct credit for every 450 gallons of biodiesel purchased.
No Vehicle Modifications. Biodiesel requires no modifications to existing diesel powered vehicles, eliminating costly capital requirements of other renewable fuels.
No Facilities Modifications. Biodiesel requires no modifications to either refueling stations or maintenance facilities, thus simplifying the fleet conversion process and eliminating special training of personnel.

Save Time and Space. Biodiesel maintains refueling conveniences and vehicle space/weight requirements.
Maintain Vehicle Range, Speed and Power. Biodiesel does not have any adverse affects on vehicle range, speed or power. Biodiesel provides the highest BTU value of any renewable fuel.
Renewable Fuel Incentives. Biodiesel has been designated as an renewable fuel by DOE. Incentives for EPAct compliance include tax breaks, low cost loans and grants through the Department of Transportation, EPA and DOE.
ASTM Specification Approval. Bio G-3000 meets all ASTM (D6751) specifications as defined by the refining, transportation and engine manufacturing industries. It is registered as a fuel and fuel addition with EPA.
